Pennine in The Community

Our employees are at the heart of everything we do, and we are proud to have an active workforce who enjoy dedicating time to help implement improvements in the community.

As part of our dedication to Social Responsibility, we are deeply committed to empowering our colleagues to engage in meaningful activities that not only promote their personal well-being but also positively impact others and the wider community.

In line with this commitment, we proudly became an Employee Owned Trust, a transformative step that ensures every employee who has been with us for at least 12 months holds a share in the business. This milestone represents more than just a change in structure—it signifies a new era in our company’s journey. By placing ownership directly in the hands of our team, we reinforce our core values of Honesty, Accountability, and Continuous Improvement.

At the heart of this initiative is our Employee Council, We Matter. This council plays a crucial role in fostering an inclusive, collaborative environment where every employee feels heard and valued. By amplifying individual voices, We Matter helps us build a culture of shared purpose, transparency, and engagement.

Our 180-strong and growing workforce is represented by this dedicated council, which regularly organises a variety of charity events and community-focused activities. These events offer our colleagues opportunities to connect, contribute, and make a difference while strengthening bonds across the company. Whether it’s fundraising for important causes, volunteering in local initiatives, or supporting wellness activities, we strive to create avenues where giving back is both accessible and rewarding.

We’re incredibly proud of the enthusiasm and dedication our colleagues bring to these efforts. Take a look below to see some of the ways we’ve been making an impact together!

National Manufacturing Day 2024

National Manufacturing Day was an exciting event at Pennine, where we had the pleasure of welcoming students from Noel-Baker Academy and John Port Spencer Academy.

Charity Rowathon 2024

As part of our Heart of Life is Health initiative, this month we hosted a Charity Rowathon, for Prostate Cancer UK, organised by our employee council We Matter. Our reception was kitted out with rowing machines, and industrial fans, for the use during our 8 hour competition between our Senior Leadership Team, We Matter, and Team Pennine.

Pennine Spring Clean 2024

The annual spring clean, organised by our We Matter team, is held every year where our colleagues take a meaningful break from their computers and operations facilities, to help remove waste from the streets of Derby.

International Women’s Day

For our colleagues, we celebrated a day early and, as an act of gratitude for our colleagues’ hard work, we put together a mini care package for all women across the company.
